What makes a good VR arena game for a business?

Players judge a game by how it feels. An operator also has to judge it by how it sells. Good LBE VR games share a few traits:

  • Built for groups. One booking should fill the arena. Single-player titles turn an arena into a row of booths.
  • Short, repeatable rounds. Groups want to play several rounds and swap teams, not sit through a long story.
  • Easy to explain. A briefing should take minutes. In our Russian arenas, each hour of booked time includes about 15 minutes for instruction and putting on equipment.
  • Different moods for different guests. Children, teenagers, friend groups and colleagues want different things from the same hour.
  • Fresh content. Regulars stop coming when nothing new appears.

Which games are included?

Game Format Maps Players Age
TeamForce Tactical team shooter 10 4–20 7+
StarForce Space shooter with teleports 4 4–20 7+
Elevators Multi-level shooter 2 4–20 7+
Portals Arcade shooter with portals 3 4–20 7+
Mini Games Kids and family games 3 games 4–20 6+
Zombies (coming soon) Co-op survival 3 4–10 9+

A game supports 4–20 players. How many play at once on your arena depends on its size: typically 8 to 12 or more.

TeamForce: the core team shooter

Two squads, cover and real running across the arena instead of a joystick. Whoever takes control of the map first wins the round. With 10 maps, TeamForce is the backbone of most bookings: friend groups, adult birthdays and corporate team building. More about TeamForce.

StarForce: space battles across levels

A space shooter where players teleport between platforms and stations, so the fight unfolds on several levels at once. It gives returning guests a different feel from TeamForce on the same arena. More about StarForce.

Elevators: vertical tactics

The fight moves between floors by elevator. Teams decide whether to hold their floor or risk going up behind enemy lines. More about Elevators.

Portals: fast arcade action

An arcade shooter with portals that create instant moves across the map and surprise flanks. Reaction matters as much as position, which suits younger and less tactical groups. More about Portals.

Mini Games: for kids and families

Short, bright games: catching runaway creatures with a net and competing in accuracy and speed in worlds from the Wild West to a fairy-tale island. From age 6, they open the arena to children's birthday parties and mixed family groups. More about Mini Games.

Zombies: co-op survival, coming soon

The squad holds a point on the arena while waves of zombies grow denser and faster; ammo and health are limited. Players fight together, not against each other, which suits groups who don't want a competitive shooter. More about Zombies.

How do the games match your customer segments?

Customer Typical booking Games that fit
Children's birthday, 6–9 Party package Mini Games, then Portals for older kids (7+)
Teenagers Hourly play, arena rental Portals, StarForce, TeamForce
Friend groups, adult birthdays Arena rental TeamForce, Elevators, StarForce
Corporate team building Arena rental, event package TeamForce, Zombies when released
Families with mixed ages Hourly play Mini Games, Portals

Having all of these in one library means one arena can sell to every segment in the same week. See how operators package them in VR birthday party and VR team building.

Why does free-roam matter for a VR shooter arena?

In a free-roam arena, players walk and run across a large open space, and their movement in the game matches their real movement. There is no joystick locomotion, so motion sickness is less common than in stick-driven VR, although we don't promise it never happens. Free-roam also means a team moves through the same space together: running, taking cover and coordinating in real time. That shared physical experience is what groups pay for. How are the games fitted to your venue?

No two venues are the same shape. Instead of asking you to build a standard room, we rebuild the game maps around the exact layout of your arena: walls, columns and the shape of the play area. The play area can range from 50 to 300 m²; the optimal format is a 100–150 m² play area within 150–250 m² in total. You send the floor plan, we adapt the maps while you renovate. See VR arena design.

Do I need to buy game licences separately?

No. All games are developed in-house by Metaforce, not resold off-the-shelf licences. The whole library comes with one subscription:

Term Price (taxes included, paid upfront)
6 months $4,990
12 months (most popular) $7,990
24 months $14,990
After the term Another fixed term, or $799 per month

The subscription also covers new maps or games every 6 months, launch support, staff training, a manager and a knowledge base; with the franchise package you also get a website, the network CRM and a marketing kit. There is no franchise fee and no revenue share. Equipment (headsets, computers, tracking) can be bought from any supplier; see VR arena equipment.

Can an existing VR arena switch to Metaforce games?

Yes, existing arenas are one of the groups we work with. If you already have a venue and equipment and need fresh multiplayer content without moving to a royalty-based brand, send us your floor plan and a list of your equipment. Compatible headsets include Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 3S, PICO 4 and PICO 4 Ultra, so you can check your hardware before you sign. About 30 arenas in 4 countries already run Metaforce games, 10 of them under their own brand.
