VR team building is a corporate event in a free-roam VR arena: colleagues split into squads, play team games where they have to cooperate under pressure, then celebrate together in a lounge. For an arena owner, corporate events are a revenue line that fills weekday evenings, when families and kids are busy, and brings larger, pre-paid group bookings. Metaforce VR Arena gives partners team games built for this and the know-how to sell them.
Why sell corporate VR events?
Most VR arena revenue comes at weekends: birthdays, families and friend groups. Corporate clients balance that load:
- Weekday demand. Companies book after work on weekdays, filling hours that are otherwise quiet.
- Bigger groups. A team or department often brings more people than plays at once. On one arena 8 to 12 or more play at the same time; the rest wait and socialize in the lounge, so the total number of guests per event can be higher.
- Pre-planned and pre-paid. HR and office managers plan events weeks ahead and usually pay by invoice.
- Seasonal peaks you can predict. End-of-year parties and company milestones create clear selling windows. In our arenas, December is the peak month for corporate bookings.
- Repeat business. A company that enjoyed one event comes back for the next one, and employees return with friends and families.
Corporate events and team building are one of the five formats sold by arenas in our network, alongside hourly play, whole-arena rental, birthday parties and gift certificates.
Which VR team building games work best?
Team building needs games where a group wins together. All Metaforce games are free-roam: players walk physically, and their movement in the game matches their real movement, so colleagues literally move and act as a team.
| Game | Why it works for colleagues | Maps |
|---|---|---|
| TeamForce | Tactical squad battle: plan, take cover, hold the map together | 10 |
| Elevators | Vertical tactics: decide who holds the floor and who attacks | 2 |
| StarForce | Fast space battle with teleports, good for a high-energy round | 4 |
| Portals | Arcade action, easy entry for colleagues new to VR | 3 |
| Zombies (coming soon) | Co-op survival: the whole group against waves of zombies | 3 |
| Mini Games | Light, playful rounds for mixed groups or family days | 3 games |
A well-run event mixes formats: a competitive round where departments play against each other, then a cooperative one where everyone plays on the same side. Zombies, a co-op game for 4–10 players, is designed for exactly that kind of shared goal. More on the titles in VR games for arcades.
Because there is no joystick movement, motion sickness is less common than in stick-driven VR, which matters with groups where many people have never tried VR. It can't be ruled out for everyone, so staff should offer breaks.
What does a corporate VR package look like?
Example from Metaforce arenas in Russia: our Yekaterinburg arenas sell corporate events on the same S–XL package ladder as parties (October 2026).
| Package | Arena time | Total event | Group size | Extras | Weekday | Weekend |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 1 h | 1 h 45 min | up to 10 | — | RUB 12,900 | RUB 14,900 |
| M | 2 h | 2 h 45 min | up to 16 | — | RUB 19,900 | RUB 23,900 |
| L | 2 h | 2 h 45 min | up to 20 | 2 h on VR zones | RUB 25,900 | RUB 29,900 |
| XL | 3 h | 3 h 45 min | up to 20 | 3 h on VR zones | RUB 32,900 | RUB 43,900 |
Every package includes the arena game with a choice of 5 games, a separate lounge zone (45 minutes), personal support from a staff member, a console game, free tea and coffee, and briefing time. Clients may bring their own food and drinks. "VR zones" are small separate VR stations that some of our venues run next to the arena.
For larger or custom events, arenas also sell whole-arena rental by the hour: in our Russian arenas, about RUB 5,500–19,900 per hour. Your prices will depend on your city; the structure is what you can reuse.
How do you schedule and staff a VR team building event?
A typical 2-hour corporate event, as your staff run it:
- Welcome and briefing. Staff explain the rules and fit headsets. In our Russian arenas, about 15 minutes of each booked hour go to instruction and equipment.
- Warm-up round. An easy game such as Portals, so everyone gets comfortable.
- Team battle. Departments or mixed squads play TeamForce or Elevators. Swap teams between rounds.
- Final round. A decider, or a co-op round when Zombies is available.
- Lounge time. Results, food and drinks the client brings, photos.
Staffing: a game master in the arena runs rounds and fits headsets, a host stays with the group in the lounge, and reception handles arrival and payment. Confirm the head count early, split large groups into rotations, and leave a buffer after each event for headset cleaning. Weekday evening slots are where corporate bookings fit best, so schedule them before weekend parties take the calendar.
How do you sell team building to companies?
Corporate clients buy differently from parents. What works:
- A separate offer page on your website with packages, photos and a short form. With the franchise package, Metaforce partners get a website.
- Direct outreach to HR and office managers at local companies, business centers and coworking spaces.
- Invoicing and paperwork. Be ready to issue invoices and closing documents, which corporate clients need.
- Weekday pricing. Make weekday evenings visibly cheaper than weekends to steer corporate demand into quiet hours.
- CRM follow-up. Remind past clients before the end of the year. With the franchise package, partners get access to the network CRM.
- Gift certificates. Offer companies certificates as employee gifts (with the franchise package they are valid 12 months and sold online).
The Metaforce knowledge base, and the marketing kit that comes with the franchise package, help with materials and routines; local sales are up to you and your team.
What does a VR arena need for corporate events?
| Requirement | Metaforce |
|---|---|
| Play area | 50–300 m² |
| Total venue, including reception and lounge | 100–700 m² |
| Optimal format | 150–250 m² total with a 100–150 m² play area |
| Power | 10–15 kW |
| Floor and ceiling | Level floor, ceilings from 2.5 m |
A larger lounge matters more for corporate events than for hourly play, because groups stay longer. See VR arena design.
How do you open an arena with Metaforce?

FAQ
What are good VR team building activities?
Team battles where squads plan and move together, such as TeamForce, and co-op games where the whole group shares one goal, such as Zombies (coming soon). Mixing competitive and co-op rounds works best.
How large a corporate group can one arena handle?
On one arena 8 to 12 or more play at once, depending on venue size. Packages in our Yekaterinburg arenas allow up to 20 guests, who rotate between the arena and the lounge.
How long should a corporate package be?
In our arenas, packages run from 1 hour 45 minutes to 3 hours 45 minutes, including arena time and lounge time.
Do the games work for corporate groups new to VR?
Yes. Games like Portals are easy to start with, and players walk normally instead of using a joystick, so motion sickness is less common, although it can't be ruled out for everyone.
Does Metaforce find corporate clients for my arena?
Local corporate sales are run by your team. Metaforce provides the games, training and a manager to help you set up the routines; with the franchise package, also a website, the network CRM and a marketing kit.
