Zombies is a co-op survival free-roam VR shooter in development at Metaforce VR Arena and coming soon to the network's arenas. Players do not fight each other: the whole squad becomes one team and holds a point on the arena while wave after wave of zombies attacks. The game is designed for 4 to 10 players aged 9 and up, with 3 maps, and it will join the other games in the Metaforce subscription.

How does a round of Zombies work?
The squad takes a position on the map and holds it. Zombies come in waves, and each wave is denser and faster than the last. Ammo and health are limited, so players cannot waste them.
Winning depends on how the team divides roles: who holds the passage, who covers the flanks, who helps a teammate when the pressure gets too strong. The difficulty is high, a real challenge even for players who are confident in the other arena shooters. Every wave the squad survives feels like a shared win.
As in all Metaforce games, the squad moves for real: it falls back and regroups together on the arena floor. Movement in the game matches real movement, so motion sickness is less common than with joystick locomotion.
What maps will Zombies include?
Zombies has 3 maps. Like every Metaforce game, each map will be rebuilt around the exact layout of your venue, so the defensive positions and routes fit your play area.
Why does a co-op game matter for an arena business?
Most team VR games put players against each other. Zombies puts the whole group on the same side, and that changes who it sells to.
- Groups that do not want to compete. Close-knit friend groups and colleagues who would rather win together than split into rival teams.
- Corporate events and team building. Shared roles, communication under pressure and a common goal are exactly what team building is about.
- Older kids and teenagers. With a 9+ rating, it gives school-age regulars a new challenge once they have played the other shooters.
- A reason to come back. A new game in the line-up gives regular guests something new to book.
One difference to plan for: Zombies takes 4 to 10 players per game, compared with 4 to 20 in the other Metaforce titles. A larger party can take turns in squads or combine Zombies with other games during the same visit.
Zombies continues the regular update cycle: new maps and games arrive every 6 months and are included in the subscription. Until Zombies is released, arenas run TeamForce, StarForce, Elevators, Portals and Mini Games. See the full line-up on our VR arena games page.
What does a venue need to run Zombies?
Zombies is planned to run on the same setup as the other Metaforce games: a play area of 50 to 300 m², a level floor and ceilings from 2.5 m, with headsets, computers and tracking from any supplier.
Want Zombies at your arena?
When it is released, Zombies will be part of the Metaforce VR Arena subscription. There is no franchise fee and no royalties; the subscription starts at $4,990 for six months (taxes included), and new content every 6 months is included. Full terms are on the franchise cost page.
