How much does it cost to open a trampoline park? For a new US franchise location, the answer is generally measured in millions, not hundreds of thousands. Sky Zone's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) put a new park at $2,330,960–$5,175,460, while a 2026 FDD summary gives $3,246,160–$6,400,210 across three size tiers [1][2]. A Metaforce VR Arena is a different, much smaller format: the brand payment starts at $4,990 for 6 months, but the owner still pays separately for equipment, premises and renovation.

We are Metaforce, so this comparison is not neutral. Trampoline parks are strong destination businesses with multiple attractions, parties and food and beverage. A VR arena does not reproduce that scale; it is a standalone compact business or a park add-on.

The ranges are not interchangeable. Franchise Times covers a 2025 new build and eligible conversion/rebrand; FDD aggregator Franchise Payback lists higher 2026 ranges by park size. A trampoline park business plan should use the current FDD for the exact format and territory, not an average of different years.

What is inside a trampoline park franchise cost?

The clearest current public breakdown we found is Franchise Payback's summary of Sky Zone's 2026 Item 7. For the smallest 16,000–27,000 sq ft tier, it reports a total estimated investment of $3,246,160–$4,782,210 [2]. Major lines include:

Item 2026 published range for the smallest Sky Zone tier
Leasehold improvements / construction $1,504,000–$2,295,000 [2]
Attractions $672,000–$945,000 [2]
IT equipment $139,500–$144,000 [2]
Cafe equipment $90,000–$120,000 [2]
Furniture and cabinets $80,000–$140,000 [2]
Architect $75,000–$125,000 [2]
Lighting $70,000–$100,000 [2]
Flooring $35,000–$59,000 [2]
Training and pre-opening labor $48,400–$86,750 [2]
Additional funds for three months $205,900–$230,900 [2]

Trampoline park cost is driven by more than trampoline equipment. The shell supports life-safety systems, food service, parties and large attractions. The smallest tier also includes a $75,000 franchise fee, lease and security deposits of $24,700–$49,400, signage, permits, insurance, inventory and a $35,000 grand-opening marketing expense [2].

Sky Zone's larger 2026 tiers rise with the building: $4,189,160–$5,683,710 for 27,000–39,000 sq ft and $4,935,960–$6,400,210 for 39,000–50,000 sq ft [2]. This scale is also a strength. A large park can combine active attractions, concessions and party rooms under one ticketing and operating system.

Why published trampoline park estimates differ

Franchise Times reported the 2025 Sky Zone FDD at $2,330,960–$5,175,460 for a new park and $166,750–$463,250 to convert or rebrand an eligible existing park [1]. The lower conversion number is not the cost to turn an empty retail box into a finished trampoline park. It applies when much of the operating venue and equipment already exists.

Brand and format also matter. Urban Air is a broader multi-attraction adventure park. An aggregator using its 2026 FDD reports $2,852,887–$7,944,050, a $100,000 fee, 7% royalty and 35,000 sq ft average footprint [3]. Altitude's official page gives a $2.2M–$3.5M 2026 FDD investment range [4]. These examples do not replace local bids.

What does a Metaforce VR arena cost?

Metaforce does not publish a US total investment figure. In Russia, an arena starts from RUB 2.5 million, approximately $30,000 at the Bank of Russia rate on 14 October 2026. Russian rents, wages, construction costs and equipment prices differ from US conditions, so the dollar conversion is a reference for the Russian model, not a US budget or promise.

The owner builds a local budget from three blocks:

  1. Software and support. The prepaid subscription is $4,990 for 6 months, $7,990 for 12 months or $14,990 for 24 months, taxes included. After the term, the owner selects another term or pays $799 per month. There is no franchise fee, royalty or marketing fee.
  2. Equipment. The partner buys compatible Meta Quest 2, 3 or 3S, or PICO 4 or PICO 4 Ultra headsets, plus the required computers and tracking, from any supplier. Equipment pricing is not included in the subscription and no US package total is published.
  3. Premises and build-out. The partner pays rent, deposit, renovation, electrical work and local approvals. The play area needs a level floor, ceilings from 2.5 m (about 8.2 ft) and 10–15 kW of power. It does not require trampoline courts or a themed physical maze.

Standalone VR arena or VR inside an existing park?

A standalone Metaforce venue can occupy 100–700 m² in total; the optimal format is 150–250 m² total with a 100–150 m² play area. It needs its own reception and customer facilities. Arenas use 2–3 people per day, and launch can take from one week to several months.

Inside an operating trampoline park, the cost structure changes. The arena can share reception, party rooms and lounge space, so a separate lounge is not required. The incremental area can therefore be mainly a 50–300 m² play room. Existing park staff cannot simply supervise it from another attraction: a game master must brief players, fit and clean headsets, run the session and monitor the room.

There are no Metaforce arenas operating inside trampoline parks today, so this is an integration option, not a claimed case study or proven park result. The practical layout, package and staffing questions are covered on VR arena for trampoline parks. Owners considering a wider attraction mix can also use the family entertainment center guide and VR arcade business plan.

Which format belongs in the business plan?

A trampoline park is stronger when the objective is a large destination with several physical attractions, party capacity and food and beverage. Its larger footprint creates more ways to package a visit, but it also exposes the project to a seven-figure build-out, higher occupancy costs and percentage-based brand fees.

A Metaforce arena is stronger when the constraint is space or when an existing venue needs another group attraction. Games support 4–20 players, with shooters rated 7+, Mini Games rated 6+ and Zombies coming soon rated 9+. New maps or games arrive every 6 months. About 30 arenas in 4 countries use Metaforce, including 2 company-owned arenas in Yekaterinburg. None of that proves how a specific US site will perform; the business plan still needs local pricing, demand, labor, rent and equipment quotes.

For an apples-to-apples decision, model at least three cases: a new trampoline park, a conversion of an eligible operating park, and a VR arena inside existing space. Do not apply a conversion figure to an empty shell, and do not apply the Russian Metaforce investment to a US lease.
