The Zero Latency franchise is not a classic franchise with a published fee table: Zero Latency VR grows through what it calls a flexible licensing model with local operators, and it does not publish licence fees, royalties or investment figures. Metaforce VR Arena is a free-roam team arena sold by subscription, with no franchise fee and no royalty. This page sets the two side by side using public sources only; all figures were checked in October 2026.
We are Metaforce, so this comparison is not written by a neutral party. Every statement about Zero Latency below links to a public source, and where a figure is not public, we say so. Always confirm current terms directly with Zero Latency before making a decision.
What is the Zero Latency franchise?
Zero Latency VR started in Melbourne, Australia, about ten years ago; its founders are Tim Ruse, Scott Vandonkelaar and Kyel Smith [3]. The format is wireless free-roam VR in an open arena. Venue listings and trade press describe a typical arena of about 200 m² with up to 8 players at once [4].
The company describes its growth model as "flexible licensing", which lets it grow in collaboration with local operators [1]. Partners can open a standalone attraction or add Zero Latency to a mixed-use entertainment site [3]. In April 2025 Zero Latency reported 116 open venues, more than 35 further locations in deployment, and a presence in 30 countries [1]. A trade report from August 2026 speaks of over 150 installations across 30 countries [2]. In September 2026 the company launched "Venue Success", a support function for its operator network [5].
The content library includes licensed titles such as Far Cry VR and Warhammer 40,000 [3]. A Jumanji experience developed with Sony Pictures is scheduled for 4 December 2026 [2].

Which model fits which investor?
The two concepts answer different briefs:
- Zero Latency VR is a global free-roam brand with a large venue network and licensed entertainment IP. It works with operators through licensing agreements; its fees are agreed directly and are not published.
- Metaforce VR Arena is a free-roam arena for larger groups, built for smaller venues and cities from 20,000 residents. You pay a fixed, published subscription for games and support; the venue, renovation and equipment are paid separately. When the subscription ends, access to the games stops.
Metaforce partners receive games adapted to their exact venue layout, launch support and staff training and a knowledge base, and a manager stays on hand. With the franchise package, partners also get a website, the network CRM and a marketing kit.
